Shannon Falon

VP of School Investments

Shannon is a Vice President on EFF’s School Investments Team, where she manages the structuring, underwriting, and closing of charter school loans that expand access to affordable, permanent facilities. She partners closely with school leaders throughout the lending process—providing clear communication, thoughtful analysis, and transparent guidance to ensure every school has a positive experience.

Shannon first joined EFF in 2019 as one of the organization’s early team members, helping grow the fund’s portfolio from $100M to $500M and designing its first analyst training program. After several years in charter school bond underwriting at HJ Sims and founding a financial consulting practice to advise schools and nonprofit lenders, she returned to EFF in 2025, inspired by the organization’s unique ability to drive equity and systemic change in school finance.

A former Teach For America corps member, Shannon began her career teaching high school math in Jacksonville, Florida—an experience that continues to shape her values and advocacy for school leaders today. She also worked in commercial banking with Wells Fargo before transitioning to the charter facilities sector. Shannon holds an MBA in Finance and Global Management from the University of Florida and a BS in Public Policy, Management, and Planning from the University of Southern California.

Based in New York, Shannon enjoys pickleball, kickball, and soccer, spending time in the city’s museums and parks, and hosting game nights with friends.
