Jennifer Barbeau
VP of School Lending & Outreach
Jennifer Barbeau brings more than a decade of experience in charter school facilities, real estate development, finance, and school accountability to Equitable Facilities Fund. Throughout her career, she has helped schools navigate complex facilities projects—from assessing financial feasibility and structuring capital to negotiating transactions and shepherding projects from concept through opening.
Before joining EFF, Jennifer served as Vice President of Project Development at Highmark School Development and Vice President of Operations for Real Estate Development at Building Hope, where she worked with charter schools nationwide on real estate and financing strategies. Earlier in her career, Jennifer worked with the Idaho Public Charter School Commission, analyzing school financial and organizational performance and supporting conversations with charter leaders and the Commission’s board. Her experience also includes commercial banking and lending, where she worked with middle-market businesses on financial analysis, credit, and capital needs.
Jennifer’s commitment to educational choice is also personal. Her own family’s experience helped shape her belief that every student should have access to a learning environment where they can thrive, regardless of a family’s ability to pay private-school tuition. She is particularly drawn to EFF’s ability to pair rigorous financial analysis with a mission-driven approach that helps schools make sustainable, long-term facilities decisions.
Jennifer holds bachelor’s degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from Northwest Nazarene University. Outside of work, she is an avid reader, traveler, and aspiring potter.
