Andy Allen
Andy Allen
School Lending and Outreach Analyst
Andrew “Andy” Allen brings experience across charter school finance, investment diligence, school-level financial planning, and classroom instruction. At Equitable Facilities Fund, he supports efforts to identify and cultivate high-quality charter schools that can benefit from affordable, sustainable facilities financing.
Andy’s career has been shaped by curiosity and a desire to better understand how different parts of the charter school sector work together to support students. He began his career closest to the classroom as a high school math teacher through Teach For America, teaching at Summit Public Schools in California and Valor Collegiate Academies in Tennessee. Those experiences sparked a broader interest in the systems, decisions, and resources that influence whether schools can grow, adapt, and thrive.
Prior to joining EFF, Andy served as a Senior Financial Analyst at Rocketship Public Schools, where he built school-level financial models analyzing per-pupil revenue, enrollment sensitivity, staffing ratios, and facilities costs across a multi-state charter network. He previously worked as an Investment Manager at Charter School Growth Fund, supporting diligence and financial analysis for charter management organizations across the country and evaluating opportunities based on financial sustainability, enrollment demand, academic performance, and leadership capacity.
Across each role, Andy has continued to deepen his understanding of the financial and operational conditions that shape school success. His work is grounded in the belief that finance and facilities are not separate from a school’s mission; they are essential to helping educators serve students well over the long term.
Andy holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from the University of Colorado Boulder. Outside of work, he enjoys soccer, snowboarding, hiking, scuba diving, mentoring young people, and international travel.
