Leaders of Color Initiative
Our Commitment to School Leaders of Color
Equitable Facilities Fund is on a mission to transform education and financial access for communities of color across the US.
The Challenge
Research indicates that students of color benefit from having teachers and administrators with backgrounds similar to theirs. Despite the charter school sector’s diverse student population, leaders of color frequently lack access to the financial resources and social networks needed to successfully launch and run schools.
Our Response
By 2026, EFF will commit $500M of low-cost financing to charter schools run by leaders of color.
“Our communities have been through so much, and we must handle them with care. The people best positioned to do that are those who share the lived experiences of the people in those communities. I believe we are educating the next generation of those leaders.”
